Hey there where's the replies? Too busy riding camels? I'm so sad - my Dad died in Sydney. He would have been 86 on Wednesday and he and Mum were married for 65 happy years. My Mum told me not to go to the funeral but I've changed my mind and I'm trying to get leave so that Bruce and I can go and can give a tribute to the best Dad in the world. He was the most marvellous teacher, organiser, planner, organist, choir trainer, secretary. He worked so hard and had such an influence on so many people. And he knew how to relax and have fun! Above all he had a deep and profound faith in a personal Jesus. This didnt stop him searching and questioning. Now he knows the answers. What am I going to do without him? He loved us all so much. God bless him. Rest in peace Dad. Please pray for my family and help me to do what I have to do properly as he would have wanted.

My blog nusicallibrarian seems to have expired! Oh well I'll just send erudite comments to yours. Gordon Child came in today. He has a lovely new house in Eastbourne and he certainly gave me a full account of it. I also saw Philhomena and Micky and told them my sad tale. Gordon never heard it because he was talking too much!

I went to the Wandsworth Interfaith network this week - lovely food. 2 young ladies told us about the event for women explaining Islam and a man asked when the event for men was going to be held in Tooting. I met the Islamic mosque guy - very charming Hamda I think?? The Tales of shadow project is going OK. I told the network about George Alagiah's wonderful "Home from home" and "The Tablet" has had good articles on Christian/Muslim relations. Zia gets them now - so much to read in them. We have been told to keep Quran on top shelf but I was in a book shop today and it was on 2nd shelf! I'm keeping busy and trying to smile although some days I feel really sad! It's going to take me a long time I think. Elizabeth's grandchild is due next week. I was at Tate Modern today but I didn't go on the slides!

I am now wearing a Peace Mala which I got free at the Interfaith network. It is a bead armband with different coloured beads for each of the faiths some of which I had not heard of. The Archbishop of Canterbury endorses the idea in the accompanying leaflet and I am all for talking to each other. I wonder if the Pope would wear one? Doubt it! In fact it is essential in this troubled world. I have always valued Zia's comments. No doubt he will be crowing over the cricket! Children need to learn social skills early. This year we are having a staff Christmas meal out Dec 19 at a nice restaurant Chez Papignon or some such name on Battersea Park Road opposite Battersea Technology college - hope it's good!

Just been called out to the library at 3am on Sunday morning. Window smashed below letterbox. Old till drawer (empty of course) on the floor. Should be on CCTV! I'm due at church in 3 hours so going to get a rest. Excellent day yesterday. Naeem Murr author of "The Perfect Man" and "The Boy" at reading group. He lives in Chicago and brought his Mum with him. MP came. Tales of shadow show in learning centre - 3 groups - Islamic centre, Somali group and the Bezzine/Sabrina mob. All did really well and obviously enjoyed acting behind the screen - using shadows. Really chuffed about Islamic group coming. But I'm tired! Ruth was mugged outside back of library so everyone has been reminded they cannot leave the library during tea breaks - BIG BROTHER! I also asked for trees in car park to be cut back which has happened - shrubs are next to go then I want CCTV out there. Keep smiling!
